  • Beauty Bar Halloween Scene UPDATED

    Los Angeles

This Halloween saw Hot Mess Sundays, Crystal Head Vodka and Beauty Bar team up to deliver what was the best 2 day party in Hollywood. From the sexy maid to the glam rock troop, everyone drank way too much and got their monster mash on!! TLC won the costume competition on Saturday. Sorry to those that didn’t win but we had a line out the door all night. So get your costumes ready for next year and prepare to be drunk!!

    Denver

Beauty Bar got possessed by the Demon Barber of 13th for our first Halloween in Denver. The build out was haunted by spooky video mixing and a straight razor picture booth. All the hip kids came in character from top hats and tails to bodice and bosoms. Mr. Sweeney Todd himself made appearances by the dozens. Most notably BBD did its first live band performances by local favorites The Swayback and Picture Atlas. Special thanks to Buffalo Exchange and FashioNation stores for the promotional support.

    Austin

Saturday we had our annual Zombie Prom, and the freaks showed up in full force! DJ MEL had the dancefloor shaking all night long while the walking dead got their pictures taken in a haunted photobooth by the super-talented Devaki Knowles – visit www.funlovingphotos.net to see all the booth pics. Thanks also to the amazing makeup artsits who helped get everyone zombified, until next year!

    Chicago

Maximum spook was conjured by our friends, Midnight Conspiracy. Since ‘Die Tonight’ does costumes and tricks every month, the anticipation for what they’d whip together for Halloween proper was definitely there. But lo and behold – this party went out all out! Beauty Bar saw hoards of zombies (some with more glitter than others) dancing (limping gruesomely? like zombies do?) all night to sets by Midnight Conspiracy, Dark Wave Disco, Heaven Malone, and Les Trois Stooges.

    New York

Everyone should experience Halloween in NYC once. We tried to make our way toward the parade on Sixth Ave but were turned back by the throngs of costumed people. Couldn’t get anywhere near it. Grabbed a quick bite and headed back to the East Village and BB. The party was already in full swing.

    Portland

Beauty Bar Portland celebrated its first ever Halloween with EPIC DEATH PARTY this weekend! The costumes, fake blood, jello shots & dance party were in full effect! Thank you PDX, for making our 1st Halloween so rockin! xxoo, bbpdx!

    San Francisco

Another wild Halloween all nite dance party at the San Francisco Beauty Bar. Who ya going to call ? this crazy dude built an exact replica ghost buster proton pack taking the best costume of the night honors. David Ruiz (pictured in the middles here with a sexy mummy) party promoter extraordinaire really pulled off a another great night and San Francisco thanks him

    Las Vegas

GoldBoot & Lipstick Killas rocked the house with their gold pants and shiny disco tunes. It was a spooktacular evening. All the kids dressed up and danced the night away till the wee hours of the morning. Photos by Jeremy Waller

    Beauty Bar Comes to Portland!

    P1070263

Just a little less than two weeks away from opening, the Portland Beauty Bar’s back bar shelves lay empty, awaiting delivery of our first ever liquor order.

    P1070340

The otherwise fully decked out dual-level, 2,400 sq ft bar is housed in a historic building on the national register dating back to 1872.  Eleven aqua vintage dryer chairs, having trekked all the way from the now defunct Paul Marie Salon in Silver Spring, MD, sit prominently in contrast to multi-toned pink and gold striped walls in all their glittery glory.

    P1070239

Anxiously anticipating the onslaught of bedhead coiffed, vintage YSL dressed boys and girls, our new team of resident gun slingers / ship-shapers are on board to kick off opening week events, including DJ sets by Joe Plummer (Modest Mouse + The Shins) and Cedric Bixler (At The Drive-in + The Mars Volta), along with hosted drink specials compliments of PBR and Three Olives Vodka.  Our already rabid (but still beautiful) fanbase has quickly amassed and is chomping at the bit to mix and mingle with Portland’s hippest movers-and-shakers, doers-and-thinkers, lookers-and-drinkers, set to the backdrop of a perfectly deadstock-vintage beauty parlor and the soundtrack of a Sofia Coppola movie.

As if all that isn’t enough, did we mention there’s a photobooth?
